Opera 12 and Opera 11.5 Mobile and Desktop Browser released.Opera which is one of the most used internet browser on mobiles phone platform has just previewed the new versions of the desktop and mobile opera browsers in Oslo. The company revealed Opera 12 for desktop users and Opera 11.5 for mobile users. Opera mini 6.5 has also been previewed in the press event held by the company.
The newer versions are focused on graphics hardware boost, a technology to increase battery life when used in handsets, new features and highly efficient performance.
The mobile versions of the opera browsers which are Opera mini 6.5 and Opera 11.5 will now be showing you the exact data you have used which will help you to find out the amount of data of your internet package left and you will also be notified about how much data will you save using Opera turbo browser.
A new technology has been introduced which crushes the pages on their very own server and in result you don’t have to download so much data so this becomes your data saving browser.
Lars Boilesen, who is the head of Opera Software said: “A lot of people don’t realize how much money they can save on data traffic. People naturally want an easy way to measure how much data they use,”
The updated versions are only for Android operating system for now and will be coming to other operating system as well in the near future. Opera claimed that whole interface of the browser has been accelerated and the efficiency is much elevated. Opera Mobile browser is the used on a very large scale, as the company said that it has to control 12 petabytes of data each month which estimates about 80 billion web pages.
Haakon Wium Lie, Opera’s chief technology officer and the founder of CSS said: “With 3D, with the hardware acceleration, we will welcome a whole range of new types of content,” he said. “Games, I think, will be foremost there.”
Opera 12, which is the desktop browser is also been revolutionized and certain changes have been made in it. Christen Krogh one of the Opera’s officials said: “Firstly there’s hardware-accelerated graphics featuring WebGL.
What we have here is a web app that connects via JavaScript to the device driver and enables you to control the camera. The main change in Opera 12 is the internals; we reimplemented completely our HTML parser and reworked how JavaScript is handled.
About the compression technology, opera claimed that this technology can compress the page up to 90 % thus minimizing the data to load. These versions are free to download for Android.
